This CLE will focus on the interim final rule FEMA IA 1660-AB07; implementation date for all federal disasters declared after March 22, 2024. 44 CFR 206.101, 44 CFR 206.110 to 206.115, 44 CFR 206.117 to 206.119, 44 CFR 206.191 Updates to FEMA IA-FEMA Interim Rule 1660-AB07, rules published Overview: FEMA IA regulatory changes were made to simplify processes, remove barriers in accessing services and increase eligibility for certain types of assistance under FEMA’s programs. The potential impact for future disaster survivors is that they will have a lower administrative/procedural burden when applying for and receiving assistance, the opportunity to receive more direct cash assistance and the possibility of access to assistance that meets their unique needs. Ethics: addresses advocacy for inequities and legal needs aligning with Executive Orders on Racial Equity and Underserved Communities, Climate Crisis (13985, 13990, 14008, 14091)
