We will address the realities of climate injustice, public health emergencies, man-made disasters, natural disasters and the consequential necessitation of the increased need for access to justice and legal resources. Community lawyering and collaborations are key to building resilient communities and facilitating internal and external relationships with public and private partners alike, all of which foster empowerment and autonomy to create equitable opportunities for the public. Legal aids will always have a lack of resources to support the communities we serve. We can be proactive in our disaster preparedness efforts and more effective with our avenues of advocacy to mitigate the inequities disaster survivors experience. We will provide some insight, experiences and real-world application in planning, structural organization disaster lawyering.
