About me
Brittanny P. Gomez is the Disaster Benefits Team Manager at Texas RioGrande Legal Aid and represents low income individuals affected by disasters. Brittanny is a Vice Director of the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Disaster Legal Services Team and has been recognized by Forbes Magazine 30 Under 30 Law and Policy for helping her clients who are affected by community and natural disasters.
Prior to working for TRLA, Brittanny was an Attorney at the U.S. Small Business Administration. While working at the SBA she assisted disaster survivors from Florida, Texas, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, and California in their recovery from natural disasters. As an Equal Justice Works Disaster Recovery Legal Corps Fellow, she provided legal services to residents of counties in south and west Texas who were directly impacted by disasters.
Brittanny primarily works on direct service cases, specifically FEMA, SBA, and Texas Health and Human Services Other Needs Assistance cases. She also organizes and participates in community education and outreach projects as well as assists disaster survivors in clearing title to their homes.
Brittanny is a graduate from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas and St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas.
